Fixing broken LSD in U2Q7 tranny
Hello guys,
I purchased an U2Q7 gearbox from EU ATR after crash.
The problem is that the car was hit in the wheel and the part od the differential has broke off.
This part is from Torsen LSD and is impossible to find used.
Problem in visible on below picture.
The best way would be to find a good shop that would weld that and then machine it to spec but i live in Poland and finding a good shop is impossible.
If i cannot find a good welder then i will weld it myself. I have an TIG and some welding skills but lack of experience.
What filling material do you suggest? Preheat it before welding?
Any heat treatment after welding to release material stress?
Any help will be appreciated.

Re: Fixing broken LSD in U2Q7 tranny
I've personally ran ones that look worse, but I wouldn't reccomend it long term racing. Just use it and if it doesn't work well or fails you need a new one out of a t2w4, u2q7 or a p2t4 LSD trans. Others may work from various h series LSD trans but they are a tad different in some ways then the 3 lowest geared ones, I know the synchros on the 3 trans I mentioned are special and only fit them.
