Eye problems?
Any of you guys welding on a regular basis noticing any eye issues after years of welding?
I know a lot of pipe fitters and union welders end up with eyesight issues after years and year of welding...But they're usually working at much higher amperages. Just wondering if the lower-amp welding typically associated with automotive fabrication is taking its toll on anyone.

i work with a guy who has been doing Navy and Government welding for a little over 30 years and he is still tickin...that ranges from welding massive i-beams and aircraft carrier parts, to aluminum thinner than 30 gauge. its all in the person i guess

been welding for the government for 6 years now, i wear my sunglasses a lot more now then i did before i started welded and dont care for too much outside light as in sun but otherwise my vision is still dead on
Welders usually have lung problems as opposed to eye problems.Been welding 6 years but some of the guys at my work have been going for 35 years and they are good. As long as you use the correct shade you should be good from what I have been told.
When I was in school for welding, my teaching was telling me after 56 years of welding that he was starting to see spider webs at random times. Said it made driving really hard lol
Had my first occupancy of a hangover type of feeling after a full night of funny car cage tig welding like 2 weeks ago. Probably not enough air flow and over exposure to argon in tight cramped spaces. But for the first time ever also the next day my vision was cloudy and sensitive to sunlight. Kind of like when you first wake up but it lasted the majority of the day.

one time my helmet wasn't darkening properly and i failed to notice it fast enough... that was probably the only time i've actually done anything to my eyes. They are a little sensitive right after I get done welding but other than that, nothing bad
