ef front end question

Default ef front end question

i got a question, i have my drag car that i bought with the one piece front end on it along time ago, does anyone know if i can buy the piece thats been cut off and have it rewelded on so i could make it back into a street car? here is a pic

sounds like an awful lot of work, why not just buy another ef? probably end up costing you about the same

The EF core support is like sheetmetal compaired to 92+. The front x-member is used to create most of the support, and the front x-member is basicly spot-welded on. Go to a junkyard with a sawzall & 2-3 batteries, ask nicely, and trailer your new front clip away.

yah thats what i figured, i want to put a normal front end on it cause i wanna turn it into a lil road race machine, so what i need is called the front x member?

looking at that pic, you need quite a bit more than just the core support. it appears part of the aprons have also been cut off. its doable, but a bit of work

but is that a jazz 1 gallon fuell cell, and is the way it's mounted according to the rules...?

i'm asking because i intend to use a jazz 1 gallon fuell cell in the location of the window washer fluid and am interested in mounting options/rules

it technically is ILLEGAL. its supposed to have a steel bar around it to protect it from impact, as the fiberglass will protect it very little. although, i had mine just like that but on the drivers side for a few years and never failed tech. Now that i have learned it needs a bar, i have added one

the rules state it must be within the confines of the METAL body. so our interpretation is that just behind the fiberglass is not correct. after speaking to a few ppl on here, i was told that it should be encased in metal surround, like a cage bar. so i used some extra cage material and fabricated a bar around it
