DIY Front Engine Mount
Hi Guys,
So I have had a lot of trouble with mounting my turbo setup and clearance with the stock front engine mount.
The car is a H23/Vtec Honda Prelude build (4th gen). All of the other engine mounts are polyeurothane (ES inserts) filled so the engine hopefuly wont get too much movement. I'm hoping it wont create too much vibration as the engine has been internally balanced (rotating assy.).
So I decided I'd do something about it and make up my own engine mount / torque bar for my car. Keep in mind I only know how to Mig weld and had access to a flux core welder.
I used 3mm thick RHS, 4mm steel flat plate, 2x rod ends, threaded rod, various M12 nuts and bolts.
Here's the pics.
The holes in the block / cross member for the engine mount - turbo housing removed.

Upper Mount bracket fabricated.
