Weld it with the axles in place or just some spare inners you have, be DAMN careful about spatter so good shielding and good cleaning will help. Just weld the spider gears together that allow the power to bias to one side or the other. Once solid, no more open diff.

Well, MIG vs TIG isn't really going to come down to strength, both are strong when performed properly. For this particular application MIG would probably be more ideal. MIG will be able to just load and penetrate the gears quickly and easily.

Here's a few welded diff pics:

This one, the two spider gears are removed along with the center pin

Neither of the above are pics of my welds...just don't want anyone thinking I roll like that...lol

I couldn't say for certain.....can't see the inside. I would personally just load up the diff gears, both to the housing and each other...just do it evenly to distribute the heat.

Here is the dif out of my old D trans, just go slow and make sure both axles are click in. Also dont weld the axle end to the dif.

It wasnt a street car but I can tell you it was a bitch to turn in the pits on slicks with 8 psi in them. Also you had better have GOOD motor mounts.

casue a locked diff will get ALOT better traaction than any lsd.. lsd has to let a wheel spin a revoloution or two to lock up locked diff will pull hardfer and never slip a tire thats why DRAG ONLY cars us drag spools not lsd's
