the enlarged piece of intercooler piping where your BOV flange is, some people consider that a "boost tube".

looks like just a simple 3" piece with a 2.5" entrance/exit

maybe im retarded but im not sure what your asking. Are you asking how i did the transition to 3" tube or are you asking why I have the 2.5" piping transition to 3" adn then back down to 3"? Or are you asking something completely different?

im interested in why you went to a larger diameter in that section? havent looked at non honda turbo setups a whole lot but dont recall seeing that as a common thing

I went to 3" to get more headroom for the maf. If i welded on the flange to the 2.5" section I would max out the maf voltage. Going to 3" allows me to not max out the 5v or whatever it is for the maf. Also put it on the charge pipe for more accurate air temps instead of the intake.

well even on honda setups there are things called boost tubes, its almost like "storage" for air between shifts to help with respooling the turbo quicker, it helps with lag. my bro use to have a mid 300hp subie, and he actually helped reverse engineer one the ecu's not sure which one cause when he talked it sounded like gibberish to me, but he said some ppl used them in the subie community.

im considering using one on my honda build and was curious if you found that section of piping the way it is or if you had to weld in reducers, to me it looks like there arent reducers in there but i could be missing something

no there are reducers, chose to finish the welds that go from the transition to the 3" tube to minimze the amount of welds. Also thought it would look clean having that section look like one piece.

well i guess i did a good job since you didnt notice. first time ive actually finished welds on something. I love raw fab stuff, but i wanted a clean look and didnt want too many welds on it. Theres also one more weld I finished on there since i had to add in a short 3" section to make one of the straight section longer on the 2.5" piping.

The Car and Fab looks so NICE! So Clean and smooth no extra crap, no extra bends, so well though out. Love the look. This would make a great kit!
