Default ceramic coating

so i've got a bisimoto header that has a ceramic coating, but i now need to weld a 2.75 to 3 inch transition onto it, but in order to weld i need to remove some of the ceramic coating, should i just wire brush it off or would something like aircraft paint stripper work?

Just wire brush off the area you need to weld.

why not bolt the transition..weld a flange to match the bisi header and then just do a bolt on 2.75 to 3 inch test pipe..

well the header was made to use with a 2.75inch donut gasket and then floating flange, and no one makes a 2.75inch floating flange, i mean i'll try calling bisi again but they just say "bring it to a muffler shop or weld this pipe on" so i mean i could try just getting a 65mm floating flange and trying to make it bigger to fit over a 2.75inch pipe
