Just wondering the exact size and type of tubing usef to build a cage in a civic. Just normal tubing, not chromoly because i will be using a mig to put it in.

for right now im just welding 2 plates on the rear strut tower and on bar straight across, then when i go to out the rest of the cage in when needed i can tie it right in.

Read the NHRA rule books of whatever rule book for the class that you plan to compete in. There you will find all the specs that you need.

is it for drag racing or road racing? The rules are starkly different.

Differant to the extent that many times a chassis that will pass in one sanctioning will not pass in another.
