Default basic machining book

we just got a real basic lathe/mill/drill machine at work and I'd like to start learning how to use it. It's not CNC or anything. nobody is really an expert or anything so there aren't really any gurus to ask for help. Can anyone reccomend some books or some internet links about machining to take a total noob from nothing to at least competant to do some basic stuff?

the only problem is that I don't even know the language/lingo/terminology. I can't even start to form intelligent questions about the subject. I want something I can read and get some basics. I'm sure I'll jump on some forums once I get started though

I'll take a look at those books. thanks.
