I ran a T after my reg on the tank. Then a 10 foot hose with a needle valve at the end. you only need to open the needle valve a tiny bit and let the gas fill the inside of the pipe you are welding. don't crank it up too high, because it will steal all the gas from the torch.
I use a "quick cap" rubber cap with a hole poked in it and the hose shoved in one end, and stuff some steel wool in the other end to let the gas flow out of the pipe, not out of the area you are welding. i'll go snap a pic of it later

Don't have a picture, but I just run two tanks, with the backpurging tank being a little bit smaller of course. Kind of self explanatory lol.

I just run two tanks, two regulators, about 7 pound purge gas.. Any ghetto design involing duct tape to seal everything off will work just fine and dandy.

man why do you use threaded connectors/hoses on the purge line. that takes so long. push to connect lines all the way..

I don't have any pictures. I use two tanks.
And for my caps I cut a bunch of canuck pucks in different sizes. Drilled two holes in each puck. One large and one small. Purge tank has a regulator as usual. Then a line attached to a tube which is inserted into the canuck puck.

Pretty simple. Plus the puck can take quite a bit of heat.

so let me ask you guys something....How do you grind down the bevel for your SS pipes. they all look so perfect....do you just have a jig set up on a grinder? or is there a tool that does this for you?

most of them come beveled like that on each end.. unless you cut it, then you can re-bevel it with a sander or bench grinder.
