, yeah harbor freight has some pretty big tarps for cheap, like 5 bucks or something. But I did not buy that one from there

Thanks, sounds good to. At idle you can't really hear it, and when you give it gas, you hear more of the engine then the exhaust

It looks like you cheated those bends a bit buddy. Cutting on tangent is your friend.

http://library.thinkquest.org/10030/13tangen.htm

cutting off tangent is a no no imho.

Think of the circle as the radius of your mandrel bend. Your cut should pass through the center point of the straight line where it touches the circle and the centerpoint of the circle if that makes any sense at all. I suck at using words to explain this kind of thing but I hope you get the idea. It's important for maintaining the same ID of the tubing as it transitions into the mandrel bends.

You are actaully cutting perp to the tangent but hell I just use the tangent term all day cutting rail fittings and junk and I think i've heard some exhause builders on here using it as well.

I see

Anyone know of any good tools that measure the angle of the pipe ? So then I know how to cut the next one, make sense at all ? If anyone reads this and has some clue what I'm talking about, please IM me so we can talk.

On another note, the bends might not be the greatest but he was not looking for performance, he wanted quite. Therefore, he told me basically to not take all day on it, because the bends did not need to be perfect.

Now if a customer came in and wanted performance, I would take more time out and make sure the bends were pretty straight. Here is a downpipe I made

I use tools like this on stair railing. (the one with the pencil laying on it) You can fab up something similer for working with tubing.

I think that one in the bottom left hand corner would work great. But where can I find one.

Wouldn't that pretty much give me the angle of the piping already cut and basically be able to hold that up to a pipe, mark the line, cut and get a perfect matching angle ?

I'll post up a how to with pictures later if I have some time. If you do some searching and thinking on your own you will probably figure out pretty easily.

the left one in the top picture normally has a ruler going through the slit on the mottom side of it

goto lowe's and buy that, then youll easily be able to see how to use it

BTW where is the muffler from?
