Air compressor problem
I have an problem. I just purchased a 33 gal Craftsman Air compressor. 6HP 150psi one. Just as I was using it.....the damn breaker burned out. I figured to ask you guys, "how big of an breaker(in amperage) do you guys use?" I know conventional house breakers are about 10amps. I was thinking of getting a 20amp one but do you guys think it's safe? because I'm worried about fire safety.
Here was a post I asked a while back about flipping breakers. Might be helpful to you...

You'll probably have to rewire if you change your breaker...the wire must be able to handle the current, and the breaker that you have right now is probably very close to the maximum that your house wire can handle...

I got a new breaker installed. It was a 20amp, and it's still a 20amp. But I found out what the problem was.
1. The breaker was barely hanging by a thread. The switch was rattling instead of clicking/cliping in.
2. On the same electrical circuit, the garage opener was plugged in.(like 2amps)
3. Also, a drinking machine was plugged into it.(4.7amps)
4. Compressor was 15amp.
I guess the water maching, at the exact moment while the compressor was compressing, it triggered it to blow. Other than that....it works fine now. But in the near future, I'll probably install a seperate breaker box in the garage just for heavy electrical machine.
Just for backup, I bought a Stanley GFCI surge protector.
