AT won't accelerate in D4, but will in 2 (after warmed up)
anyone with same experience know the fix to this problem?
98 civic lx auto b4ra d16y7
over 200K miles, but other than this problem it runs solid
unfortunately, no codes.
After the car is up to temperature and I've driven a short while like a few miles, then D4 starts acting up. so problem starts when i come to a complete stop i apply the brake and everything is fine. sit and wait for light. but when i let off the brake the engine revs high and no forward acceleration. same in D3. it appears that 1st gear is not engaging or clutch/something is not disengaging? but if i put it in 2 it will drive forward. then i can shift to D3 and D4. All gears work fine when cold.
i wrote a lengthy post here original post with all the parts cannoning including solenoids, sensors, torque converter, rebuilding the trans (new clutch, steels, o-rings, etc), fluid level is fine, 3x flush and fill method, but not finding the root cause. I've performed some electrical tests according to the factory service manual, but wires/continuity/grounding, solenoids, pcm appear fine. unfortunately, there's no codes either via obd2 nor the service connector. maybe i missed something in the rebuild like a warm gear, splines or other part. it's odd that D4 works fine when cold and not when hot. i don't have a pressure gauge to run the hydraulic tests, but i'm probably going to have to take it apart again and inspect everything to find what is not obvious, but defective.

i can't believe it's been a year now from when i posted. i rebuilt the trans. she's been rockin. crossing fingers we get another 200K
