what type of LSD is this?
Bought a type r trans. Guy said it was all stock and worked great. Put her in, filled her up with some torco mtf.
And went for a drive and it would clunk very bad around corners. Did a lot of research on what it could be. The possibility of it being a clutch type lsd came up, I did some tests that other threads said and according to them I did not have a clutch type. So to me that meant it must be oem and prolly broken. So I had it swaped out for an ATS clutch type and what do you know I had a clutch type in there the whole time. That had an incorrect ring gear as well. The trans is great now. Proper fluid, normal click/clunk and grips great. But what kind of clutch type lsd did we pull out? Any way to know?

99% sure its a Kaaz unit. One way to check for sure is take a picture of the speed sensor gear and post it up here. The speed sensor gear for the Kaaz diff are different that the stock speed sensor gear. Just sold my Kaaz for that very reason (clunking/uncomfortable). Their really good for Auto X doe...
