Default what tranny is this

i bought what i was told was a civic type r tranny, the case says s4c and its lsd but when i opened it up n counted the ring gear it was-64 and the final drive was-15, so thats a 4.26 gear ratio right? isnt that low for type r? i also counted the number of teeth for every gear on both shafts if no one can answer using this info i will post the rest.

also i need to replace the ring gear and final drive cause they r both tore up. any suggestions on where to buy them and what ratio would be best for my setup:
b20vtec 12.0 c/r,skunk2 stage2 cams, dc header,2.5"exhaust,skunk2 pro series i/m n 68mm t/b. runnin a 205/50/r15 tire for street/strip use so nothing to aggresive but good in the 1/4

called mfactory and they dont sell ring gears for the 15 bolt or the 14 bolt honda ring gear lsd. so i would also have to buy a new lsd in order to get the stuff from them. does anyone know anywhere that sells ring gears for the 15 bolt design? or maybe a final drive for my spare lsd which is a 14 bolt honda lsd with a 66 tooth ring gear?

That sounds like an SiR LSD not an Type R LSD

It has b16/ctr/USD ITR gear ratios with an SIR LSD and an LS final drive.

Sounds like some pieced together a pile of parts.

H-Motors is one of the cheapest places I have found the OEM 4.7 ITR final drive.

I would also try to source a used ITR LSD and go that route if your on a budget.

I suspect its a SIR viscous LSD which as far as I have seen no one makes a replacement final drive for.

Some info here:

thanks that info helped some especially the part about the ls countershaft not working with type r 66 tooth gear because i was gonna try it seeing how i have one laying around n it is 15 tooth. so i have to get an si 15 tooth countershaft to work with 66 tooth type r ring gear. in order to use spare lsd. but if iwanted to use my current lsd (4.26)ratio i would have to find a rare 64 tooth 15 bolt SiR ring gear but then could use the 15 tooth ls countershaft with it. did all that come out correct???

Both parts should be from the same set. Mixing gears is not advised.

15 bolt b series lsd’s/ ring gears and unique to the b16 88-91 y1 cable transmissions which were optional lsd’s. they run the small spline clutch discs. If you still have it I’ll buy it haha. If this was found in a hydro case someone swapped the gear set into it.
