Only issues with my comp is that I strip the splines out of the hubs. It holds power perfectl;y and I flat foot it at 9K without issue and 750 Wheel.

Elaborate? SOunds like some sort of either diaphram spring thing or a treans issue

I have a comp. It works great but the hubs wear out on the street with serious abuse. Comp will try and tell you its your faukt, and that cars making 1000 hp dont break them... They dont, they get driven 30 miles a year.. LOL.

Working on a new design with a reputable clutch MFG.

Bug me about it in a month or so... Ill have pics ;O)

comp clutch..have problems down shifting into first gear unless the car comes to a complete stop..changed the synchros ..problem went away but is back now but instead of comming to a complete stop i can down shift to 1st when am going about 5mph..if you try to other wise it rakes like hell...holds the power well (but am only at 500)

and oh yea clamps hard as hell down shift on the street to high or not correct speed and youll feel like u hit a brick wall when u lift your foot..lol

I have been running OS Giken twins on the street for 10+ years without any issues. The costs of overhauls is what kills me!

IDK but i just put in my CC twin and when ever I let the pedal up and engage, it sounds like a bunch of high pitch mice screaming. Just a bunch of squeaking and it annoys the hell out of me. People at stop lights look at the car like its a pos because the noise is so nasty.

Extralarge- work on a design that doesnt sound like it broken too!

Here is some advise to those that are thinking of going with a CC twin to save you some time........

In CC's instructions it clearly states make sure each clutch is on the right side. They even label the clutches with a sticker. One side goes on the trans and other towards the motor. If you put the clutches on the wrong side it will not work. I found this out the hard way because CC put the stickers on the wrong clutches!!
I called them up and spoke to their guys and they said "wow that sucks sorry dude" They gave me a t-shirt and a few stickers.
All and all pay very close attention when installing the clutches other wise you will spend another half day installing your trans.

That's straight bullshit. They should pay me for my time. I thought for $1100 on a clutch you wouldn't have to deal with BS like that. Well, now I know. Their gifts for their F up was basically advertisement for CC. Thanks CC lol

k good.

if i bent them on the install wouldn't it have been messed up from the get go? it happened over time. they are NOT bent, they're warped.

i bought a new set hoping they stay strait.

i said "the directions say 150-200 trouble free passes and 20,000 miles. i have 3 passes and 2000 miles."
he says"uuuuuuuhhhhhhh, its your fault"

OK!!!! im stuck with a $1000+ paper weight if i dont buy them, sweet clutch bro.

he also said they cant service the old style, you have to buy a whole new top hat. WTF???!!!

I also had a hard time dealing with Comp earlier this year, seemed I couldnt get ahold of anyone who knew anything about anything. I had an H twin disk already and was looking for an H2B twin disk, was hoping I could get away with just swapping flywheels but nobody could tell me if that would work. If you are a company manufacturing a product wouldnt you know if the basket/disks were the same from one model to the other?? lol

I ended up ordering an entire new clutch from Sean@KS for my h2b project, its supposed to be the new style which is also a redesigned steel flywheel. I dont know if anything else changed, I will have to compare the old to the new and see. I had good luck with the last one, I hope this one does just as well.

Earlier disks in the last gen clutches did come from QM (at least definately the replacements). After the hub issues (that werent happening according to them last time I talked to them)... They did change the hubs so that the hubs actually utilized more of the IS splines and they were supposedly manufacturing those themselves, but the older ones (even when you ordered replacements) came from QM (At least Mine did). The newer hubs look like theyve been heat treated differently... and the protruded through the disk where as one of the disks previously only had the hub sit flush on one side (engine side if memory serves correctly).

Rosko plz post pics of yyour new clutch hat FW and disks. I have some of mine and we can compare ;o)
