I have a 97 honda prelude with a manual transmission i backed out of the drive way yesterday went to shift out of reverse and the only gears in will go in now i believe is 3rd and 4th there a lot of play in the shifter now and everything was working fine before hand. it is the first cable tranny ive owned so if anybody has any insight itd be much appreciated thanks

 

Sounds like you broke a cable or the shifter assy broke. Is your excess play left to right or laterally?

 

I figured it out and you are right i broke a cable thanks for your help
