Trans speed sensor (VSS) problem
i have a 1993 Honda del Sol automatic,
speedometer wasnt working very well, i would drive around and it would be around 30-40 mph off I figured “hey must be the vss, I’ll replace it later” we’ll later came and the odometer stopped counting miles, had a spare vss laying around from an automatic 1995 del sol so I went ahead and replaced it. Speedometer was still 30-40 mph off but the odometer and trip was working. So 3 days ago I bought a new vss thinking it would fix it but now the speedometer is at a constant 0 but the odometer and trip work. But here’s the thing that makes me think it’s not the gauge: when I go on the highway and hit about 60-70(I know via app on my phone) the speedometer registers 30-40mph so brand new vss
things I still need to check:
1. Continuity in the plug going to the vss
2. Speedometer head in the cluster, I have a spare one from the 1995 del sol, I’m waiting until last minute to pull the cluster because it’s my daily
3. Spray some connector cleaner into the plug and see if that helps any
any imput is greatly appreciated. Thanks so much
sorry if I posted this in the wrong thread or left out any info that is needed
