ok so im trying to understand why tranny wont shift gears . it will work properly when the car is off , but if i turn on the car my clutch feels soft and wont allow me shift gears ?

is it my tranny oil? im going to flush tomorrow the tranny and use some gm fluid. oohh my bad its a rsx type s tranny

where do i find my mastercylinder?

 

Driver side of the firewall next to the brake MC/booster.

Look inside of the car where the linkage connects to the MC from the clutch pedal for the leak I assume you're wanting to look for.

 

my gears wont engage so im replacing it as w/slave clutch. already check my tranny fluid and it was fine .so this is my next step

 

Rather than just going and buying one, have you first checked if the slave cylinder is inactive? Does it operate and have full extension? Or is it frozen/locked up and/or leaking? Don't go buying things you don't need.

 

ok about two weeks ago i could not shift any gears on my ep . so asked for advice what could my problem, i was told first check my fluids, try changing my master & slave cylinder , and next thing i did was change my clutch completely with a competition clutch organic kit w/ exedy lightweight flywheel. but still after all this my car still wont engage gears!!!!!wtf????????? any more suggestions

im having the same problem wit my tranny works some times and other times it dont i figured out the the master clylinder at the fire wall has to have a diaphram in the reseviour but now she grindes 2nd and 3rd but wont go into 3rd and the pedal is soft bleed 2 12oz bottles of dot 3 still no luck for me cluth dont slip its weird and did you change your throw out bearing with your clutch next thing it could be is the syncros

 

have you tried bleeding the clutch?

 

bleed twice my self and yes bearing w/ clutch changed

ok , so he got it running but sucks ***** now it has no power at all . he said he adjusted the master clutch but stated that my flywheel is always running even at a stand still does that make any sense at all?
