Default Timing Adjustment

so i have a 97 sh that idles so low it kills out when the RPMs drop down (like when stopping at a light) any one know how to adjust the timing or know of a good sight i can look at???

Absolutely. To adjust the timing, you need to have the transmission out of the car. Once it is out, you need to split the case. Carefully remove the mainshaft, countershaft, and shift selectors. Once they are out, completely disassemble both shafts. At this point, bolt the case halves back together with no internals and reinstall on engine. Install starter and adjust your timing. Remove starter and empty case, replace internals using all new gears, synchros, bearings and synchro springs. You should replace the shift forks and final drive gears, too. Reassemble transmission and torque everything to correct specifications. Reinstall transmission and go try your car out.
