Idk if this really belongs here, but I've been in need of a 97hx starter for the cvt automatic transmission. Searched around and found only used ones for prices I can't afford right now. But when looking at online honda parts suppliers I noticed that alot of the starters were the same except the mounting "plate".

So a friend of mine gave me a dx starter and I tore them both apart and just changed the "mounting plate" and the #3 gear set from the hx to the dx and to my surprise they bolted back up and it's been working fine so far.

So idk if anyone else can confirm but imo alot of d series starters have interchangable parts, alot like the motors themselves.
