Default shifting your automatic

i've come across a few people that have automatics that shift as if it were a manual rather than starting in the top gear &letting the car shift itself.
others say its just plain dumb, useless, dangerous, etc

can anyone give me any insight, pros, cons??

D3 or D4 and leave it.

Manually shifting a Honda automatic will kill it.

my furst honda was a 1994 ferio auto and when i figured out i could shift for the car i never stopped we bought that car in 94 it was used i dont remember how many miles but i inheritid the car in 1999 i started manually shifting it probably about 2 years later so from 2001 to about 2007 or 08 i cant remember the tranny finally gave out so thats about six years of manual shifting on top of the fact the car was already 7 years old when it finally died the car had 250,000 miles on it so i say go for it but only when you need to it probably causes more heat so maybe adding an oil cooler to the tranny will help it with longevity and also remember that the old school v8 guys used to do the same thing with there automatics

Yes the V8 Guys did do that...but there is a BIG difference between a V8 trans and a Honda trans. BIG DIFFERENCE.
