Do the other gears go in smoothly? are you stopped when your trying to put it in first?, because if your decelerating and trying to get it in first its going to be hard while the car is moving

yeah all the other gears go in easy. when i come to a stop i usually press in the clutch and then put into first, but only when im about to stop. is that some thing i should just wait till i come to a stop completely.

OK i feel like an idiot right now.. its been a couple years since i have drove a manual. but i listened to what you said and when i come to a complete stop it goes in just like all the other gears. so i don't think there is no problem, thanks Krut
