s2000 noise
i have a 2000 s2k and when i drive either the rear end or the trans is making a loud humming noise. and whenn i come to a stop it makes a popping sound that sounds like the wheel of fortune. i thought maybe it could be a cv joint also? idk but any help would be appreciated.
Popping could be a CV shaft. Have you gotten under there and looked for torn boots, axle play, etc.?
The humming is something you will have to listen to. This is the internet. We can't hear it through a computer screen hundreds of miles away and service it. If you're not comfortable diagnosing it, find someone local to you that you trust to check it out in person.
Good luck.

well i just checked my trans fluid and it was almost dry. so i filled it up and its still doin it. the differential fluid was at the right level. but yeah ill just have to get into it a little further.
If the trans fluid was empty, you've likely damaged one or more forward gears... hence the hum/whine. Bearings could be damaged as well. And all of this will need checked out.
Trans fluid doesn't just disappear. So someone either didn't fill it before, or it leaked out. If it leaked out, you'll still need to address where it was leaking from (axle seal, driveshaft seal, mainshaft seal, case-to-case seals).
