Need HELP, Trans question
So I'm building the first Honda I've ever bought, and I'm making sure everything is done right the first time.
It's a eg hatch gsr, with a garret Gt35r .70 ar. Looking to be around 500-550 range. I'm currently looking for a transmission I belive I found one. But the only question is that some people tell me the gears are to small due to the final drive. These are the specs, let me know what you think,
gsr transmission
ls 4th and 5th
gear X 4.7 final drive
Mfactory LSD
fresh rebuild with synchrotech synchros and oem bearings.
There's not much direction in that question. Look up a gear calculator and that should answer your questions. Depends on what your doing with the car and what your gonna rev it to.
The 4.7 FD is okay gearing wise with 24.5's depending on how you manage traction.
GSR 3rd into LS 4th is not possible. They use a different hub/slider/shift fork/synchro.
I would rather run a B16 3/4/5 and MFactory Pro 4.0 FD.
The B16 4th/4.0 setup will cross the line at a lower RPM. The 4.7 setup will need over 9,000 RPM on 24.5's in the 1/4 mile.
