Default Mfactory 1st almost install...

I tried upgrading my b16a trans with the Mactory 3.070 first gear and 98+ jdm itr final drive with itr lsd. I contacted a few mfactory minded people and did a search on h-t for the 1st gear and understood that the mfactory 1st 3.070 will not work with the 98+jdm itr tranny due to a casting difference with in the tranny case. That may be true.

However the Mfactory 1st gear will not work with the 98+ jdm itr final drive due to the distance collar being integral with the countershaft and not allow the Mfactory 1st gear to fit. So needless to say that was disapointing.

The quality of the Mactory 3.070 1st looked great. I guess I have a 1st gear for sale now. On a side note the 4.785 final drive and lsd was a great upgrade.

Thanks to Scott at Collective Autoworx (Collectiveracing) for helping me out and informing me about the countershaft issue.

I thought it was pretty well known that this was the case.

Our 1st gear was designed for the OEM 4.4 Final Drive Fitments. They will not fit the JDM '98 Spec due to the different countershaft. I'm not sure who informed you that it was due to a "tranny case casting difference"?

Yeah I was misinformed more then once. Saying that the gear will not work with a 98 jdm itr tranny doesnt specify why. In my case the tranny is a b16a with the countershaft from a jdm itr. I didnt post this to say anything bad about my outcome.

I'm just posting this to inform the misinformed that this is the issue with fitment so they dont make my wrong discission. Cheers

Send us an email from the website, and we'll work something out. We are actually working on a limited batch of '98 Spec 1st gears at the moment.
