Default massive shifting problems!!!!!!!

This is the 3rd tranny iv bought simply because of this problem. Its a cable ys1 tranny cc stage 4 unsprung disc.the problem is getting it shift into 3rd at high rpm, this is the only gear that has the issue. The shift linkage does have some play in it. I also heard you have to machine the flywheel down a few thousandths if you use the cc.

So iv come to the conclusion that its not a tranny issue and has to be an issue with something else but am not sure what it is.

Clutch cable is brand new. Where do the shift linkage bushings go?

What shifter are you using? If there is any play in the shifter/shift linkage, change out the bushings for some Energy Suspension bushings. What about your mounts? Are they nice and tight? Do you have solid or urethane mounts? I had a similar issue with my car. I have a cable S1 tranny with a CC Stage 5 sprung disc. I would have several passes where I just couldn't get it into 3rd very easily. There were 3 things that I found that was wrong. First, my rear tranny bracket was a little loose, allowing some movement of the engine. Second, I had to keep adjusting my clutch cable until I found the "sweet spot" of where it would engage just right. Thirdly, and I think most important was the mental aspect. Everytime I would make a pass, I would only concentrate on trying to get it into gear. Probably thinking about it too much and not concentrating on just trying to drive the car. I worried about it so much, I probably tried too hard to shift the trans right. If I think about it, my best runs are where I just drive the car with instinct and feel, rather than thinking hard about what I have to or need to do. This is just me though, I'm sure you know how to drive your car. HTH.
