It's a B18 LS swap on a 2k Civic hatch. I was cruising at 35mph in 4th gear and then the car just went neutral.

I cant move it to any gear or BARELY at all besides 4th gear and even in 4th gear it's in "neutral", I can turn it on and it'll say I'm doing 20mph and if I force it into any other gear it grinds a bit.

I wanted to see what you guys thought it could be in case someone knows for sure I can either buy another trans or a new clutch kit. One of my friends back home told me it was a wheel inside the LS trans and some people tell me it could be the clutch. What do you guys think? I wont know for a week until I'm able to rip it apart and hopefully find out it's just the clutch.

 

sounds like an oiling problem that cleaned 4th gear out.

How much fluid drained out of it and what did it look like?

 

I haven't had the chance to work on it due to work and working on my buddies swap. If we finish the swap this weekend I'll have space to take it off and find out though what you're saying sounds like what my best friend said. I'll check the oil tomorrow and see though. I was hoping someone would say clutch hahaha but at the same time I was looking for a transmission . Guess a new transmission is going to fix this for sure. I'll let you know about the oil though.
