i was rebuilding my y1 cable trans. 1st and 2nd synchros look pretty close to some hydro synchros. my friend had some synchros in his shop from hydro trannys and i noticed they look close. will it work?

Test fit them on. I've never bothered to check as I've not had the need to.

 

well i gotta rebuild a s1 in a few month, ill try it then.

 

Why not just buy a S1 set then? Cheap enough as is. S1 3-4 is a PS1, where as the ITR/GSR is P21. Same price, whether they work together or not.
