Default gear swapping

i have a gsr trans in my car now, could i change out the 5th gear for a ls 5th w/o taking out the whole trans?

yes you could change 5th gear with out taking out the trans, but its not worth fighting with it I recommend just taking it out completely. I've tried it before and it wasnt worth my time. It was faster to remove it and change the gear and not fight with lining up the washer on the end of the mainshaft when you put the case back together.
