My friend has a 1996 accord coupe with the non vtec f22 mated to a 5 speed manual. Just yesterday we pulled the transmission and took it apart to see what was wrong cause it was only working in 5th gear. We discovered that 3rd gear on both the main and countershaft were missing a bunch of teeth and those shards had made it throughout the transmission causing it to not work right. Everything appears to be in good working order besides for the 3rd gearset and a couple bearings. We couldn’t find the original gears for the p2s5 (I believe that’s the transmission code) but found a set for a 97-01 prelude with the h22a4 engine and m2y4 transmission which look very similar and I was wondering if those would work and just alter the gear ratio a little. If not what other 3rd gear sets would interchange with little modification. The car is a 1996 Accord coupe 2.2l sohc non vtec with the 5 speed manual from factory. The gears are shown below
