Default dropping the trans

So i asked this in the wrong section so here it goes.
So hi guys im currently in the process of changing my clutch in the snow and i ran into the bitch pin and i was wondering if i could drop the transmission alittle bit with the linkage still attached and change the clutch or would i have to remove the linkage from the end and then drop it?

You can unbolt the other end of the linkage.

This is true. Just un-screw your shift **** and un-bolt the two 12mm bolts holding the shift linkage to the chassis.
