Icon2 Dropping the engine with out a cherry picker

i need some ideas on how to drop my engine out of my car with out a cherry picker its a 91 honda civic hatch, i need to put a new clutch and i need my engine out. i have jack stands. also how would i put it back in

you do not need to remove your engine to do the clutch. You can do it with the engine in the car, by dropping the tranmission and supporting under the oil pan with a jack and peice of wood.

Put a jack under the oil pan with a piece of wood on it for cushion then you use a hydraulic floor jack to hold the bottom of the tranny. Then have someone hold the tranny above and have someone turn the screw to let the pressure out of the floor jack. Slide the tranny under the passenger wheel base if you want to go that far. Make sure your car is jacked up enough.

Def. easier to remove the tranny, rather than the whole motor. YES!
