Default D-series trans problems.

k so i have a 89 si trans that im having some problems with.i was driving the car and when i went to slow down i pressed the clutch peddle in and it started lunging real bad, this lunge is only happening when i press in the clutch.it also doesnt want to stay running in neutral almost like its still in gear it will move a little and stall unless i give it gas and let the clutch out.also it makes a awful wracket when in nuetral off of the clutch but if i press the clutch peddle in it goes away.im thinking its the input shaft bearing but i could use some more info because i dont know much about transmissions.thanks guys..the trans goes into all the gears like it should and comes out of gear with no problems so i wouldnt imagine it being anything with the gearset/shift forks

sounds right for input shaft bearing. but I suspect you also have a mechanical problem in the clutch as well though. either a clutch disc, plate, clutch fork, or cable.
