Well went to the track today once I hit second gear car stopped pulling suddenly and was making a loud clicking / ratcheting type noise so I coasted to the finish and off the track .Loaded car up and brought it home went to back it off the trailer it backed down the after only a few feet it stopped suddenly .would not move in either direction more than a few inches .After some coercing and some help we were able to get it in my driveway but it would like lock up every 10 feet .Pulled the wheels axles seem fine sounds like its in the trans possibly the diff but I,m not sure it is a quaife so its hard to believe that it broke with my measily 300 hp .I would have though the stock axles would have broken but they appear fine its late and I'm tired any input or other people had the same experience and if so was it the diff ?

 

bump for you...im on the same shoes as you...does it make a loud bang right before it stops or locks? im thinking it's the diff..but haven't had the time to open it up yet..

 

well it makes a noise before it stops but we were just pushing the car to get it in the driveway .It was making a loud ratcheting noise as I was coasting down the end of the racetrack today .

 

Something is broken (obviously). Not hard to believe the Quaife could be broken. Sub 200whp cracked one in a customers trans, on street tires.

Tear the trans down and inspect.

 

Turns out its a broken final drive
