Default ZC Timing

ok..i haved searched around and look on various diff sites..but can not find it...this is the deal...

I have a D16a8....it has been running great..i have a small tick..so i had a friend check the timing..he said it was about 60 degrees..bc 60 was as far as his would go...so i got one and checked it myself...it came to be about 64 degrees...so i made a few calls...had some ?'s..and upon all the talking we came to conclusion that it may have jumped a gear...both of the gears...so i moved them back one gear...started it...sounded good at idle, but no power...checked timing, i was about 10 degrees retarded....i drove it...no power at all..almost died everytime i took off from a start and had nothing to give...so i moved it back one tooth...started it..sounded good again, and idled fine..checked timing...it came out to be about 30ish degrees..my timing light i was using is not the most accurate....so i drove it...had ok power but not what it used to...so i am really thinking about moving it one more back, maybe i moved it 2 too many and didn't realize it, but my thing is i am trying to get it back to 60 something degrees...but funny thing...i know that shouldn't be right...or am i wrong????

any help on timing and gears..the cam gears are 34 tooth gears i think..thats what i counted....
