Default ZC swap won't start.

Ok, just got done swapping in a ZC motor in a DX (EG style not sure what year)

Anyways, it's all hooked up and ready to go, we turn the key and it turns over but won't get going. So we swapped out the distributor, put in new plugs, and different plug wires. Tried it again same thing. So we decided to unhook the exhaust to see if the cat was clogged, didn't solve the problem.

So finally we thought it could be the starter. So we hooked it up to the back of a truck and towed it down the street all the while dropping the clutch. While being pulled the motor would run but the second my brother touched the gas it died out.

Any ideas?

Have you checked for spark? Are all the grounds in order?

it takes a while for a different engine to start after a swap. my friend fried 2 starters trying to get his to crank, but on the third starter finally got it going. aint that a bitch.

We have spark, we've checked that. We are now thinking (thanks to another post I made in the EG forum) that we are using an OBD-0 ZC into an OBD-1. Since we just found the motor laying around in the corner of the shop we don't really know the origin of the motor... soo we are going to try swapping out the injectors, dizzy, and using our DX ECU.

obd-o and obd-1 distributors do not swap you must use the distributor from you car. obd-1 dist will not work in a obd-0 car and visa versa
