Yet another question about car shaking...
I've got a 92 civic CX, totally stock. I'm not really sure what to do, when I get going about 70-75 my steering wheel starts shaking. But if I'm driving 60 its ok. I want to know what could cause it, I searched and found wheel bearings, brake rotors, and CV joints. I pretty much ruled out CV joints because it does it even when I let off the gas, and as I said it only does it when I get to about 70-75.
I already had my rotors resurfaced because it used to shake really bad when I stopped. I doubt its a bent rim because I've got steelies. I also know its not a bad bushing because I had a bad bushing and replaced it, and checked the other ones.
So I'm thinking wheel bearings, but I want to know if there is anything else it could be? My main problem is I don't have a lot of money to go buy wheel bearings and have that not be the problem.
Oh yeah, a couple more questions. How much are OEM wheel bearings from honda?
And, when I have my car up on jacks and I push and pull on the wheels there is kind of a knocking sound coming from under the hood, like right where the steering wheel goes into the car. But, my steering wheel is tight and I don't drift back and forth at all. As soon as I push on the wheel the steering wheel turns.
But, could there be something up there that is fucked up and causing the vibration?
Thanks in advance, I really need help, and someone must of had this problem before
