Default Y1 LSD Gearbox on D series engine

hi,
read about the D2B kit on one of the archieve thread about using a adaptor plate to use a b series gearbox on his d series engine.

i'm running on a D16A9 engine, which is a DOHC non-vtec and i found a Y1 gearbox with LSD from a B16A1 engine.

to fabricate an adaptor plate shouldn't be much of a problem but i measured the OD of the mainshaft of the gearbox of the B series and D series gearbox, B is 25mm and D is 22mm.

Is there any ways of swapping the mainshaft to have the B gearbox fit into the D engine? or any methods to have it work?

I know it's much easier to just swap out the engine in to a B series but from where i am, it's very illegal to swap engine. Experiences, thoughts and suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

cheers
