Already posted in the EF section.............just so no one misses it I posted here also.

Y1 (factory LSD) makes a horrible clunking noise when I turn in first gear. Checked the fluid yesterday, it was full. Any suggestions? Please dont tell me its time for a new tranny

sure its the tranny? axle, cv joint?

 

axles have been changed........its definately the tranny. Possibly the diff?

 

was it working fine and you replaced the axle then it started to make the sound?

 

no....its was making the noise, but not as bad, it has gotten worse over time.

 

sounds like its time to crack open the tranny and check out that diff
