Wtf...little input on injectors please
So long story short. I bought a 90 crx Si with plans to restore it from the ground up. I built a z6 that I am currently installing. With that I pulled out the old motor. It was a d15b7 that the previous owner must of installed. Well before I pulled the motor it ran fine. Seemed to go good for a stock d15. Well when I pulled the motor I took a few parts off it to keep cause you never know when you might need them. Well I went to pull the injectors and I noticed one pretty much fell out when I took the fuel rail off. I looked at it a little closer and it was a obd1 injector. Which surprised me because I was under the impression that they would not work in an obd0 car. The harness is untouched and resistor box is still hooked up. Part of the reason why I bought the car is because it was so clean and untouched. I checked the ecu even it surprised me so much. Stock ecu. Like how did the car even run? I have had a crx with a dead cylinder before and it ran horrible. I know it was a obd1 injector because....well I just know, I have seen hundreds of them. The inside was like ground down to fit the obd0 injector clips.
So I guess my question is how did the car even run? In terms of function how do low impedance and high impedance injectors work? Would the obd1 injector just straight up not work or would it work sometimes?
Thank you, more of a discussion than a question.

did you test the resistance of the injector? that is what is important not the obd1 obd0 or obd2 thing. if the resistance was off it could still run though it puts the ecu at risk of damage. but it also cold have been a low resistance obd1 injector as well...
Injectors aren't any obd. They are simply low impedance and high impedance. You measure the ohms to determine if they need a resistor box. Low impedance need a resistor box, High impedance don't. It's that simple.
i am well aware of the above mentioned post, i am also aware that obd1 (stock) civic injectors are high impedance. (no resistor box req.) I was merily saying obd0 and obd1 for simplicity sake, and the assumption that everyone knew this. now if honda 92-95 civics did in fact have a obd1 low impedance injector stock from the factory, then i apologize. i did not know that. but i am pretty sure they didn't.
