hey guys, ive had my gsr up on stands for a couple months. took it apart and
just got too busy at work
anyhow, I pulled the tranny out of it and its been
sitting there. the engine has since shifted and last night for the first time I
actually noticed that the engine was hanging from the mount and resting
with the crank pulley against the frame. Its been sitting like that for a while
and I noticed last night that it might not be good for it. I propped it up from
the floor and got it off the framerail. should this be cause for concern?
the CP was sitting flush against the frame, the mount above was the only
mount securing the motor. thanks for your input

no worries, thats the right idea. will do, I have it propped up right now
but I will make something more substantial. hope nothing hurt the motor,
but we will see.

that is funny you mention that. I am actually going through something similar right now. When I was removing my old build that cracked a sleeve (my intentions are to take everything out of that motor and put into another block) the crank pulley got wedged in the bay as I was lifting the motor out--I was thinking I may have bent the crank snout--but from measuring the snout is fine no runout. Apparently it takes alot to bend a crankshaft.
should be fine, the guy i bought my motor from said he launched so hard the valve cover hit the hood and the crank pulley hit the frame rail... motor still runs strong... granted he only had it running on 3 mounts
