Worth it to go from....
Stock GSR cams to Type R cams...
Right now Im running stock GSR cams in my B18C1 with 12.7:1 CR as I cant afford a good set of cams yet. Engine is fully NA built, sans cams. I have the opportunity to trade for a set of Type R cams.
Ive never thought of the small step up, but high compression loves cams. I would assume that even as relatively mild as the R cams are, that it would be a magnified increase in power due to the high compression.
Can anyone add to my speculation??
Thanks fellas,

I think you would be very pleased with the results if you went with ITR cams. i'm might be mistaken but wouldn't it be a drivability issue to run with ITR cams at that compression? anyone????
Ive had a bit of trouble getting it to run with out minor pinging or major detonation. Right now ignition timing is set a 16 degrees BTDC and it runs well. Im getting a Mugen chipped ecu with the R cams and I plan on retarding the timing another 2 degrees to help prevent any detonation.
Thanks for the input. Cant wait to throw them in !
