wiring the vtec on my p28 ecu
i recently put a JDM D15B in my civic. my previous motor was a D15 non vtec. i am running the motor off of an automatic (my car's automatic) P28 ecu. my wiring harness is still the same from my old motor and now i need to hook up the vtec. i know there is a way to do it without getting a whole new harness. i need to know which color wires on the ecu go to the vtec solenoid and the pressure switch. basically i need a good wiring diagram. also... i tried hooking up the vtec by connecting a wire to the vtec solenoid, and by connecting another wire to the positive end on my battery. when i touch the two wires together, the vtec seems to kick in a little bit. but this morning i drove to school and my vtec was kicking in without me touching the wires. i know this happened because my car redlined at about 7500. usually it should only go up to about 6200 without vtec. after i drove my car for about 15 minutes, the vtec shut off and my civic drove like it usually does. why did it do this?
you need a two wire plug off a junk harnessto go to the vtec oil pressure switch and one plug for the vtec switch. the vtec switch will go from vtec solenoid to the ecu pin out and the two wire plug one of the wires will go from vtec oil press switch to the ecu pin out and the other goes to ground on the thermostat housing. let me see if I can dig up my info on the pinouts for the ecu
