wiring power windows up

wiring power windows up
i have a dx hatch.I put ex doors on it.SInce the dx never had power hook ups what can i wire the clips from the ex door to?Ive tried to run wires from the battery to the wires on the door but it didnt work. I am completely lost when it comes to this wiring stuff. so if anyone knows how to do it please help
