Not Vista, not sure about Windows 7, I have had the least amount of problems with Windows XP, I am computer "illiterate" so the last thing I need is problems, when I got the computer it came with Vista, what a constant PITA, I replaced it with Windows XP, when it was time to replace my computer, [two months ago] I found a shop that would still load Windows XP into a new computer. 94
Take the above with a grain of salt, as I said, I know next to nothing about computers, but I do know what works for me.

Windows 7 is pretty good but im using Vista right now and its not bad. But if i remember one of my buddies said the program Crome wouldnt work with windows 7 so i stuck with Vista just so i can use Crome.
i would get a system with vista if you are buying a new computer. this will give you the option to upgrade to windows 7 whenever you want for free if you do not like vista. i personally use vista and have very few problems with it other than a few compatibilty issues when trying to use older programs. i have not used windows 7 yet but would love to try it. from what i have read (and i have read a lot!) windows 7 has far fewer compatibility issues and the setting to run programs in a mode for a different operating system (ie. windows xp) works far better.
I am a bit of a geek so if you have any questions like good brands to buy PM me.

As a IT professional I suggest either going with windows 7 or XP. vista will be a bad idea. I also recommend sticking to the 32 bit version to ensure maximum compatibility but 64 bit editions are made well now so if you go with a 64 bit version you wont have a problem with it either.
