Will VTEC kick on??

Will VTEC kick on??
Ok I have the motor at idle and i take a wire run it from the solenoid to the battery and the motor kinda bogs...sign that the VTEC is engaging. Would that happen LOW oil pressure??

if you put power to the VTEC it will come on at any rpm and any oil pressure it dosent mean that its good for it and it bogs down cuz the vtec cam lobes are much bigger
