Default Will these cooling fans be an upgrade or downgrade?

I really would like to make more room in my engine compartment, and the stock fans aren't helping anything, So I started looking at thin fans. If I can improve airflow, reduce weight and free up space, upgrading my fans would be a win win win. I found this
Amazon Amazon
I think this looks like the best for the money, but if anyone else knows of a better fan for the money, please let me know. Will these fans move more air than stock? Thanks.

Waste of time. They don't even have a CFM listing. IF you want real fans that actually work, you want Zirgo or SPAL. BOCO!! (Buy Once, Cry Once.)

Ok, so how many CFM do the stock fans move?

I have no idea. I'm sorry. I haven't run stock fans in over 15 years. From what I remember it was about 600cfm. The SPALs are over 1700. So strong that they require a 40 amp fuse. drops Coolant temps to be under 184F

SPAL fan for the mf win. I turn heads every time that **** kicks on. LOL.

I had to build a relay to give it 12v because it kept blowing the fan relay fuse and it burnt out the relay. So strange.

That's not bad for a good fan like that.. NOw, if you're just looking for something to get byfor a while on something you're getting rid of later on, I can understand. But since you didn't state an intention or purpose, we assume you want quality.

I want to get high quality fans, but when you can't afford them you can't afford them. Is there actually a reason for fans to be so expensive, or just because they can? And no, I have no intention of getting rid of my car.

The old addage "you get what you pay for" really does apply to modifying a car. Quality isn't cheap for a reason. I don't understand what you're trying to achieve, as well. You want to clean up your engine bay? Start saving for an aftermarket radiator/condenser setup that allows you to recess them under the radiator support.

Amp draw killed the relay. I'm betting the relay you previously used was rated at 25amps.

Yes you can. You just have be patient and save a bit, like we all do. There's no shortcut to this.

The reasons why they are this expensive is very simple. Better materials, for a better bearing system that allows a higher CFM flow rate using better wiring materials to mate with your existing wiring. It also has a better grade ABS plastic that passed OEM standards so that you don't destroy the blades in 5 days.

You even get measurement diagrams to ensure you get the correct size to work for you.

Yeah, at the time I didn't think about that. Just needed to ensure it was pulling air not pushing and that worked fine. I'm preparing for the big upgrade soon to come and the upgrade to a dual core radiator + slim shroud + SPAL slim fan was needed, not to mention my radiator started to have a slow leak up top.

Done deal

All 3 quotes state you just want something for the moment and don't care for longevity, so for the moment if that fan that you link is within your range than go for it. I don't believe in buying into the 'cheap but quality', that is MY OPINION and some of these old timers might believe in it as well however there are also some that don't.

You'll see plenty of sellers with the same design BUT won't give you the details of the CFM or fake the numbers. Why, because majority of buyers are aware that these sellers are getting there product from the same source.

I thought the Maradyne fans were also considered quality fans that don't break the bank.

Their website has CFM numbers.

Radiator Fan

edit; the 14" looks like the only one without CFM ratings.
