I know the LS Distributor has worked in many budget B16A swaps. I would think it would work in the GS-R. The legs do not all line up, you have to secure it by one leg and cut the rest off.
Over a year and no problems with the B16s yet...

I've done that. You're right, you must cut off 2 of the bolt holes to make it fit. The motor started and ran OK but I never really trusted the distributor again but it will work. Obviously, you don't cut off the bolt hole on top that allows you to adjust the timing.

yeah it works you cut off one of the legs on the dist so it doesent hit the vtec selonoid. and you just leave the other one on bolted. there you go.
