if i were to cap off the stem of the valve cover, would that harm my engine? i am doing this temporraly because i am possibly burning oil.. and i do have an oil catch can but for now i am capping one of the tubes so see how much oil is actually going through it. thanx in advance.

 

No it will not harm the engine at idle as the pressure is lower. But I definitely do not recommend removing it driving around or revving the motor up.
